East Coast Development weekends

Seafreedom kayak are heading to Scotland's East Coast this winter and into the spring of 2014 to run a series of progressive weekends, from introductory sessions to rough water boat handling skills, including Rock Hopping/Gardening and Surfing through to Rolling workshops and Towing and Rescue sessions.  Come and join us for some paddling fun and lots of learning. There is a little something for everyone!

Rolling Workshops - Intro and refresher

These workshops are designed to introduce you to the fun of learning to roll your kayak and to guide you to discover and develop techniques that work for you.  This is a rolling workshop with a difference.  It will not only help you in the process of rolling but will help transform your paddling too!

Taking your Rolling to the Ocean – Rolling development

If you have mastered that Roll in the pool then the next logical step is to apply what you have learned to the ocean blue.  It can be quite a different experience but the transition is one that we will help you through.  We work with you at a pace that you feel is suitable to you and we will give you the confidence to play and experiment with your roll in rougher water and surf – all in a fun way!

For those who can roll in the pool and are ready to take it to the sea!

Getaways - Spring and Summer 2014

Things of note: Our self catering trips may vary according to price of accommodation.  Specialised trips (photography) = £110 per day,  Expeditions = £110 per day.  All other courses = £90 per day*

Oban/West coast area

A Combined Sea Kayak and Photography course designed specially to capture the moment of transition from one season to another! You will receive the tuition of inspirational photographer Keith Brame, a professional photographer and experienced kayaker whose work includes the John Muir Trust Wild Land Project and who is currently involved in shooting the 1200 km long watershed of Scotland.

The group will be led on the water by one of the Seafreedom team of qualified and experienced guides, and is open to all levels of sea kayaking abilities.  All you need is a keen interest in capturing scenes through a lens from a sea kayak!

The courses are timed for the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstace to take advantage of the lighting conditions at those times

Kayakers of all abilities with a keen interest in photography! 

You would need to have reached Stage 1 on our skill level scale

Arisaig camping Expedition

Surrounded with beautiful views across to Small Isles, Arisaig is an area steeped in history and as you pass by stunning coastal shores you will be mesmerized by stories of myths and legends of its past.  We will journey along the coastline of Arisaig and discover why this area is truly inspiring and one of our favourite destinations!

For Paddlers who want to experience kayak camping for the first time or who like camping and simply want to experience the area.

Exploring the Uists

Residential week in the Outer Hebrides

Join us on a trip to one of the most beautiful places in the World!  After a days paddling along the tranquil and truly stunning coastline of these remote islands, sit back and relax as you admire stunning panoramic views from the comfort of your accommodation.

This trip suits early intermediate paddlers with 10 days paddling experience, knowledge of rescues & being rescued and who are happy in slightly exposed challenging waters for short periods of time

Isle of Mull & the Treshnish Isles Expedition

Our home waters on the west coast of Scotland are without doubt some of the most magical. The Isle of Mull and its more western outlying islands, The Treshnish are only a small part of what we call our home waters, but are simply stunning. We know there is no better place to watch a great west coast sunset from, and that's before we even think about the wildlife!

This trip is for Intermediate to Advanced paddlers who are confident and don’t mind being challenged, with a knowledge of rescues/self rescues & being rescued and who are happy in more exposed challenging waters)

Argyll Sea Kayak Trail Expedition

This expedition is one that we are very excited to offer!  Come and join us on this epic 8 day exploration of our home waters, all the way from Gigha to Oban!  We will try to cover as much of the Argyll coastline as time and weather allow for, but we can guarantee a truly great trip, Having an open mind to adventure you can quite literally go where the wind blows you!

For Intermediate + (Confident paddlers who don’t mind being challenged, with a knowledge of rescues/self rescues & being rescued and who are happy in more exposed challenging waters)

To allow you flexibility during this trip we leave it in your hands to organise your own accommodation (we can recommend places for you), that way you can come with a group of friends and share fun and laughter in the evenings, or you can relax in a quiet b & b, or get close to nature and enjoy camping in one of the many official campsites in the area.
